As we were informed from the RA Investigative Committee, yesterday at about 18:15, on the 30th kilometer of the road Kapan-Goris gunfire was made towards the “Lexus LX 570» car in which Syunik Governor Surik Khachatryan and two other people, his driver and his assistant were riding. There were no victims.
Criminal case under the requirements of Article 34-104, Part 2 and Article 235 Part 1 has been initiated in the Administrative proceeding of the Especially Important Cases.
In fact a criminal case is initiated for the attempted murder. Article 104, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code provides several features of murder. If perpetrator or perpetrators of the assassination attempt are found and if proved guilty they will be punished with imprisonment for a term of twelve to twenty years, or for life.
A criminal case under Article 235, Part 1 has been initiated as well, which provides that Illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices is punished with arrest up to three months, or with imprisonment for the term of up to 3 years.
