“The competition of the candidates to ECHR Judges from Armenia.was held without any violations.” Ruben Melikyan, President of the RA Academy of Justice said in the interview with Iravaban.net.
“As a member of the Committee I can just express my opinion, that the competition was held in compliance with the domestic and international criteria. There are opposing opinions that I do not agree with,” Ruben Melikyan said.
It is due to mention that the representative of “Europe in Law Association” NGO who was an observer at the competition, argued that the competition was held with violations and the documents were not made available for the observers. They were also banned from participation in the final session of the commission.
Notably the winners in the Armenian round of the competition were Armen Harutyunyan, Ara Ghazaryan and Liana Hakobyan.
