How much Money is the RA Government going to give to the Survivors of the Armenian Genocide?

The issue of the monthly financial aid to the survivors of the Armenian Genocide will be included in the schedule of tomorrow’s Session of the Government.

Tomorrow, the executive will discuss the issue of making changes in the 5 May, 2011 Decision N687 of the RA Government. The discussion is on “Making an amendment in the RA Government Decision of 5 May 2011 on “Repealing the 23 December 2004 Decision N1820-N of the RA Government on Providing Monthly Financial Aid to the Survivors of the Armenian Genocide in Western Armenia and Ottoman Turkey, who were born till 1915(inclusive),”and to amend Clause 1 of Decision N687cahnging the words “twenty-five thousand drams” to “one hundred drams.”

It is clear from the Government decision that the 33 persons who were born in Armenia and in other places of Ottoman Turkey till 1915(inclusive), and who survived in the Armenian Genocide are paid twenty-five thousand AMD. However after the adoption of the draft on tomorrow’s session the Executive will provide a monetary aid of 100,000 AMD.

The decision will come into force on 1 April 2015.
