The Press Service of the RA NA informs that on February 23 the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Management and Local Self-Government moderated by Stepan Margaryan debated at the sitting the issue on considering in the special procedure at the upcoming four-day sittings the legislative package “On Amending the RA Law on Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan” and on amending a number of the RA laws.
By the decision of the Committee the debate of the package in the second reading will be organized during 24 hours.
The key speaker, the first deputy of Yerevan Mayor Kamo Areyan has informed that the topicality of the issue is the reason of applying with such recommendation.
On the same day the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs moderated by Vardan Ayvazyan in the first reading debated the legislative package “On Amending the RA Law on Value Added Tax,” “On the Specifics of Payments and Calculation of Indirect Taxes between the Republic of Armenia and the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union” and “On Amending the RA Law on Approval of List of Goods Imported by Organization and Private Entrepreneurs, That Have ‘0’ Customs Duty Rate and are Not Subject to Excise Taxation and for which Value Added Tax shall not Be Calculated and Collected by Customs Authorities.” The RA Deputy Minister of Economy Emil Tarasyan has noted that the goal of the legislative amendments is the harmonization with the provisions of the EEU membership treaty and the reduction of the additional burden falling on the entities, the increase of the export volumes, the creation of the new jobs, etc.
The Committee proposed to organize the debate of the package of draft laws in the second reading during 24 hours after its adoption in the first reading.
The RA First Deputy Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms Suren Karayan submitted for debate in the first reading the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Turnover Tax.”
The considered legislative package with the endorsement of the Committee will be included in the draft laws of the agendas of the NA session and four-day sittings.
The debate of the package of the bills “On the Restrictions of Realization, Sale and Use of the Tobacco” and “On Amending the RA Code on Administrative Infringements” has been postponed up to one year.
