PAP Political Council issued a statement, informing that the assembly on 20 February was cancelled. The statement reads:
“Yerevan Municipality, in ignoring the rally application note, creates illegal obstacles for the organization and holding of urgent assembly on 20 February.
Taking into account the tense emotional situation, and aimed to avoid possible provocations and clashes, the PAP Political Council decided to cancel the assembly 20 February assembly, which had been announced before.
In result of political consultations we shall find political solutions to overcome the created situation in all legitimate ways and to protect the interests of the public.”
Today, Gagik Tsarukyan, the Chairman of PAP made another announcement. He noted, “Both the government and the opposition aim not to pass reasonable limit. All problems should be solved through peaceful, legal and political way.”
