Today, an indictment was filed against Mnataskan Aleksantyan, resident of Saranaghbyur village, with regard of the case on the protest actions on 15 January in Gyumri. His advocate Hayk Harutyunyan, informed this to Iravaban.net. Sona Truzyan, Advisor to the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee asserted the fact.
Mnataskan Aleksantyan was arrested and then released on 6 February; the measure of restriction arrest was substituted with cognizance not to leave.
“Today at 11:00 he was summoned to the Investigation Department, charged, but the measure of restraint was left the same,” his advocate said and added that Mnataskan Aleksantyan was charged under Article 258, Part 4 (Hooliganism) of the RA Criminal Code. “We have not yet provided our position. My client refused to testify,” Hayk Harutyunyan said.
Part 4 of Article 258 provides punishment with imprisonment for the term of 4 to 7 years.
