On 6 February, NKR President Bako Sahakyan awarded posthumously Shakespeare Hakobyan, the soldier of N regiment of the NKR Defense Army for his courage. The soldier was awarded “Medal for Courage,” the official website of the NKR President reports.
As we had informed, on 5 February at around 16:15, soldier of one of the posts of military units of the Defense Army dislocated in eastern direction Shakespeare Hakobyan was deadly wounded by the intentional shot of the enemy on the grounds of national, racial or religious hatred or religious fanaticism. The soldier died in place.
The General Military Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee instituted a criminal case on the incident under the requirement of Article 104, Part 2, Point 13 of the RA Criminal Code.
