Today, the President of the Republic of Artsakh held a meeting to discuss the incident that happened in Kashatagh region of Goris Stepanakert highway on 31 January,
Arshavir Gharamyan, Director of National Security Service Adjunct to the NKR Government and Kamo Aghajanyan Chief of the police reported at the meeting, the official website of the NKR President informs.
In his speech President Sahakyan npoted that the initiative of the members of “Founding Parliament” from the very beginning had caused discontent among different layers of Artsak population.
The source informs that on the assumption of the fact that the police had reliable information on hundreds of people going to Kashatagh region with intention to stop the rally, the police had to carry out corresponding measures to prevent the possible negative developments and to maintain public order.
It is also reported that unfortunately the development had had negative effect and it was not possible to avoid clashes.
President Bako Sahakyan instructed the Chief of the Police to conduct a service investigation on the fact and to report about the results, so that the President could make corresponding conclusions.
Ashot Ghularyan, Speaker of the Parliament and Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan and other officials participated in the meeting as well.
