Karen Andreasyan, Human Rights defender of the Republic of Armenia, has expressed an official position on the events in Berdzor and sent a letter to his colleague in NKR, Yuri Hayrapetyan. In his letter he particularly described the developments near Berdzor village where unidentified persons on Police Cars and Police uniform attacked the participants of the car rally organized by “Founding Parliament” Civil Initiative, beat them, broke all the cars and the flags. And even more, they used force against the media representatives as well as against women and children.
Given the fact that the incident occurred on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, and the RA Ombudsman has no jurisdiction to interfere in the investigation, Karen Andreasyan applied to his colleague in NKR Yuri Hayrapetyan urging to review the details of the incident and take measures to restore the violated rights of citizens.
