“Perinçek v. Switserland” Case Hearing that started at the Grand Chamber of ECHR is accompanied with Protest Action.
Kristine Melkonyan, Advisor to the Prosecutor General of the RA in her conversation with Armenpress said that Armenians and Turks had gathered in front of the Court. Dozens of police officers and police cars are patrolling the rally participants. Supporters of the Armenian side are stating “1915 Never Again”, “It’s time.”
At the first hearing, which began at 12:15 Yerevan time, Doğu Perinçek made the first speech. According to the court regulations Switzerland, the respondent in this case will speak then, it will be followed by the Armenian and Turkish delegations.
Gegvorg Kostanyan, the authorized representative of the Republic of Armenia’s Government at the European Court, and internationally known advocates Amal Clooney and Geoffrey Robertson representing the interest of Armenia will take the floor.
