The Information and Public relations department of the RA Ministry of Urban Development informs that the Ministry and “Freedom of Information Center” NGO have signed a reconciliation agreement and as a result the case “FOI against the RA Ministry of Urban Development on the claim to recognize the fact on failure to provide Information in due terms and infringement of the Freedom of Right on receiving proper information and to call the Ministry to Administrative Liability,” was suspended.
In 2013, FOI had submitted a written inquiry to the Urban Ministry requesting the copies of the n the procurement contracts from one person made in the second half of 2012 for the needs of the Ministry.
The Ministry rejected the request on the reasoning that the requested information was a commercial secret. FOI considered the denial ungrounded and applied to the Administrative Court․
In August 2014, went the RA Urban Ministry expressed its willingness to provide the requested documents, FOI’s representative in their turn expressed willingness to sigh a reconciliation agreement.
On 19 January, 2015, the parties signed an agreement where the “Freedom of Information Center” NGO completely abandoned its claim(s).
