Convict Isajanyan was filed an indictment in the framework of the criminal case on hiding drugs in the parcel for the convicts in “Vanadzor” penitentiary. On 9 December 2014, Lori Investigation Department of the RA Investigation Committee admitted into the procedure the criminal case on the attempt to sell drugs to the convicts of “Vanadzor” penitentiary. According to the information, the investigation activities revealed that pursuant to 21 April 2011 decision of the Court of the First Instance of Shirak marz, K.Isajanyan was sentenced to five years in prison for purchase of drugs in especially large amounts and was serving his sentence in “Vanadzor” penitentiary.
On 28 November 2014, at 16:30, he tried to illegally gain in the parcel for his personal use a significant amount of drugs with fixed weight of 1.75 grams home-made marijuana, which was found by the officers of the penitentiary as a result of examination at the receiving center of the parcels.
K. Isajanyan was charged under Article 34 – 268 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RA. Measures are taken to find out the identity of the person who passed drugs to the convict, and to ensure comprehensive and objective examination of the circumstances of the case.
Note: The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
