The judgment on the case of Vazgen Khachikyan, the Ex-Head of the RA Social Security Service and others was announced in the Court of General Jurisdiction of Center and Nork Marash Communities of Yerevan City under the presidency of Judge Arshak Vardanyan. Vazgen Khachikyan was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
“Suspend criminal prosecution initiated against Vazgen Khachikyan under the requirements of Articles 38-314 of the RA Criminal Court, with the reasoning of expiry of the term of bringing him to criminal liability. Adjudge him guilty pursuant to the sanctions of Clauses 1 and 2 of Part 3 of Article 179 and Clause 1 of Point 3 of Article 178 of the RA Criminal Code; claim him under the requirements of Clauses 1 and 2 of Part 3 of Article 179 and adjudge to imprisonment of 7 years and 6 months, with confiscation of property of around 261 million AMD. Apply Part 4 of Article 66 of the Criminal Code, assign partial summation of punishment of 4 years and 6 months, and as additional punishment add 28 million AMD to the assigned confiscation of 267 million AMD. The final punishment of 12 years in prison with confiscation of personal property no more than 290 million AMD,” the Judge Arshak Vardanyan read the verdict
Ashot Abrahamyan was sentenced to 5years and 6 months in prison with confiscation of personal property, but no more than 261 million AMD.
Vigen Grigoryan was sentenced to 5years and 6 months in prison with confiscation of personal property, in the same amount. The same punishment was adjudged to Vahagn Khachatryan, but confiscation of personal property of mo more than 211 million drams was applied on him.
Bagrat Muradyan was sentenced to 4 years without confiscation of property. Taking into account that he was imprisoned for already two years, his final punishment of imprisonment was set 1 year and 9 months. By application of Article 70 of the RA Criminal Code in relation to him, a probation period of 1 year was established, the term of detention was lifted and he was released from the courtroom.
Armen Khachatryan was sentenced to 1 year 8 months and 20 days without confiscation of property. The punishment will not be applied conditionally, a probation period of 1 year was established, the term of detention was lifted and he was released from the courtroom as well.
Hovhannes Hovhannisyan was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months, without confiscation of property. Under Article 70 of the RA Criminal Code detention will not be applied upon him conditionally, a probation period of 1 year was established. The same punishment was applied upon Arthur Sukiasyan.
Sargis Sargsyan was sentenced to 4 years. By application of Article 70, a probation period of 1 year was established.
Samvel Elbakyan was sentenced to 4 years, without confiscation of property, however it was not applied conditionally, and probation period of 1 year was established. The same decision was applied upon Hamlet Martirosyan.
Hranush Danielyan was sentenced to 4 years, without confiscation of property. Under Article 70 probation period of 1 year was established for her as well.
The suit of over 268 million AMD filed by the Prosecution was granted partially for about 173 million AMD.
