Bodily injuries with no signs of light health damage were detected in the Prisoners’ Detention Center of Yerevan Administration of the Police of the Republic of Armenia on the body of Garegin A., arrested on suspicion of committing a crime under the criminal case reviewed in the Principal Investigation Department of Especially Important Cases of the Investigation Committee of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with Paragraph 8 of Part 2 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code the Republic of Armenia.
Garegin A. reported to the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia that on September 10, 2014, the policemen of Sevan Department of Gegharkunik region of the Police of the Republic of Armenia applied violence to him and the other family members of his when arresting him from his own apartment.
Garegin A., pointed out that another policeman of the Principal Criminal Investigation Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia applied violence to him.
A criminal case was instituted based on the materials prepared in the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with Part 2 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
A preliminary investigation is under way.
