The summarized and translated version of the Concept of Constitutional reforms was presented to the “European Commission of Democracy Through Law” (Venice Commission) experts on 19-20 September. Member of the Constitutional Reform Committee adjunct to the RA President, Dean of the Law Department at YSU Gagik Ghazinyan informed Iravaban.net that the discussions were quite efficient: “The expert evaluation of the presented Concept was quite positive, though there were also some suggestions and recommendations which will be taken into consideration. The Venice Commission will give an official opinion, if I am not mistaken, on 15 October, and if corrections are made according to that opinion, the concept will be presented to the President”, said Mr. Ghazinyan.
Afterwards the President will start the political discussions on the Concept. “These will be not internal (in the party) discussions, but rather discussions with all possible political powers. So the ready concept will be presented to the political powers. Let me say that the opinion – I don`t want because I don`t want and this doesn`t decide anything, will not be considered justified by the society and should be reasoned. In any case as a result of these discussions its governance type will be chosen”, concluded Mr. Ghazinyan
