MP Karo Karapetyan received his mandate in 2007, through proportional elections from Prosperous Armenia Political Party. He is a jurist, graduated Kiev Police Academy in 1991.
Started to work prior to graduation. In 1986-1990 worked in Masis Department of Internal Affairsas a criminal intelligence officer. In 1991-1994 Chief operative officer in the state property division of Internal Affairs of Artashat. 1995 – 1996 – Deputy Head in the division of criminal intelligence of Echmiadzin regional department.
In 1997 – 2003 – Assistant military prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia, then senior assistant. 2003-2007 he was head of the division of Internal Affairs of Ashtarak region.

2012 – Elected Deputy of the National Assembly by the proportional electoral system from the “Prosperous Armenia” Party.
Below is information on annual income according to the declaration on property and income, which Karo Karapetyan submitted to the Ethical Committee for High-Ranking Officials.
In 2013 he had an income of 3.124.150 AMD, which completely generated from the salary and /or other wages.
In addition, at the beginning of the fiscal year he had 49.000.000 AMD which at the end of the year totaled to 60.000.000AMD.
His monetary assets in USD also grew from the 108.000USD and totaled to 120.000USD.
In his declaration the MP mentioned his son Vilik Karapetyan and his wife Hasmik Stepanyan, as interrelated persons. The latter did not have any sources of income and had declared 53 million AMD at the beginning of the year, which at the end grew till 80million AMD. Her USD fund also grew twice, from 100.000USD and totaled to 220.000USD at the end of the year.
Compared to the parents, the son of the deputy has no income, neither any monetary asset.
