MP form ARP Faction of the NA Arpine Hovhannisyan introduced a legislative initiative on making changes and amendments in the “Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly” RA Law, which refers to the MPs who had the largest number of absence.

According to information of “Zhamanak” Daily, the issue to discuss the problem of the absences of MPs’ was exceptionally under the authorities of the NA Speaker. Currently the MP recommends to absent the monopoly from the NA Speaker and to discuss the issue of the absent MPs in the NA Ethics Committee and then in the NA session.

According to the new initiative it is recommended to provide a conclusion to the NA to consider the absence of the MPs from more than a half of votes during one session as unexcused absence.

In addition if the MP was absent from more than a half of votes during one session, and those absences were not considered as excused absences, then the staff during a one week period shall submit a reference to the Ethics committee indicating the MP’s name, last name, the number of electoral district, the absences from votes during the regular session.
