The RA Government discussed the Draft law on Changes and Amendments to the RA Code on Administrative Offences, which was not approved by the Government.
The Draft recommended reducing the fines for violations of the traffic rules, which according to the Government’s opinion was not duly reasoned and might have a negative impact from the point of view of prevention of the road incidents.
Prior to the approval of the Draft it is necessary to carry out corresponding analyses, comparing the size of the fines with the level of danger of the infringements.
Notably, a working group was established on the decision of the Prime Minister, which currently studies the size of the fines, thus the problem may be referred only after summarizing the results of the study.
The Draft law and the Government’s Opinion will be submitted to the National Assembly in the established order.
