The Law Faculties in Armenia do not form Legal Thinking

The legal education in our country is extremely theoretical: individuals who are educated in the universities become law experts rather than lawyers. The most important component – formation of the legal thinking remains open. There are a lot of things to do in this area.

“Unfortunately, we still continue to require form the law students to learn the laws by heart and reproduce the laws that they learnt,” Arthur Ghambaryan, the head of scientific-analytical council “Criminal Justice” operating in the structure of “Libra Legal Aid” law office said.

It is for the first time that the legal and judicial reforms strategic program has envisioned the improvement of quality of the legal education. Much attention should be paid to the quality of the individuals who deal with the faith of the people. Ara Ghambaryan believes that attaching importance to this issue on the level of strategic program is a really important motion.
