“The Chamber of Advocates launches “Legal Assistance to Syrian Armenians” project,” informs Zinavor Meghryan, Adviser to the President of the Chamber of Advocates at the meeting with media representatives.
“The project is aimed at legal integration of the Syrian refugees in Armenia, through providing free legal counsel. The project started yesterday. The business days are from Monday through Friday from 9:00 till 18:00. The Syrian Armenians may visit the Chamber of Advocates with the issues of their concern and will be provided legal counsel,” Mr. Zinavor Meghryan said.
He informed that a corresponding Facebook page has been opened as well and those who are unable to visit the Chamber personally may ask their questions there.
A two-month’ project consists of two phases. During the first phase the Chamber of Advocates shall provide free legal assistance to the Syrian Armenians. And in the second stage the Chamber shall ensure court representation as well.
The second stage implies to summarize the range of the issues of concern of the Syrian Armenians in the framework of the Armenian law and further to prepare a bi-lingual (in Eastern and Western Armenian languages) handbook and to disseminate it free of charge among the Syrian Armenians. The project is supported from the budget of the Chamber of Advocates.
