Galina Danielova’s only son was born on September 13, 2000, in Arzni. When Azerbaijan launched a large-scale war against Artsakh on September 27, 2020, Arsen had only three months left until his discharge from military service. Mrs. Galina’s only son dreamed of completing his service, returning home, working, and helping his mother.
“He worked with me for almost two years. I took him to work with me to keep him from falling into bad company and choosing the wrong path,” says his mother.
Arsen Danielov served in Ijevan. Speaking to Iravaban.net as part of the “Immortal Victims of the Artsakh War” series, his mother recounted that she lost contact with her son on October 19, 2020.
During his service, her son never complained about anything. His mother says he came home three times. When the war started, Arsen told his mother they wouldn’t be sent anywhere. During every phone conversation, he assured her that everything was fine and that he was at his military base. His mother doesn’t know when Arsen was deployed to Artsakh.
“I would ask, ‘Arsen, there’s a war going on, could they send you too?’ He would say, ‘No, mom, how could they send us?’ But my heart knew, I’m a parent. I went to Ijevan, they told me 400 people were lost. I said, ‘How can they be lost, are they needles to be lost?’ My son always told me, ‘Mom dear, don’t be afraid,'” the mother recounts.
For about three months, the mother had no news of her son. She searched everywhere, among the missing persons. The DNA analysis matched, and in February 2021, Arsen was buried. However, Mrs. Galina still doesn’t know when, which day, or where her son was killed.
