“I lived for a Whole Day only having Water; we left our House Hungry and Thirsty: Forcefully displaced from Artsakh

Marusya Ohanyan, who was forcibly displaced from the occupied Republic of Artsakh, told in the framework of “Artsakh: Armenian Genocide 2023. Stories of Survivors” documentary project of Iravaban.net that she was displaced from Haterk village in Martakert region.

“My house was burnt, my husband was sick. We left our house hungry and thirsty,” our interlocutor said.

According to her, they did not manage to take anything with them.

“I was wearing my clothes only. I lived only on water for a day,” she said, adding that when they left the village, the enemy entered it.

They went to the airport of Stepanakert, hoping that it was safer there.
