The route transport from Armavir city to Yerevan is not working for a long time.
Students and citizens of the region who study and work in the capital find it difficult to reach Yerevan. Currently, transportation is carried out by 4-7 seat cars. However, this does not solve the problem; there are queues at the bus stop.
Iravaban.net talked with the Governor of Armavir, Davit Khudatyan regarding the problem.
“Previously, approximately 2 years ago, a joint route tender was held. The 2 participants who applied to the tender disputed the results in court. As a result a few days ago, a decision was made, according to which there is an opportunity to announce the tender for the new route,” he said.
According to the Governor, the issue will be resolved after announcing a new tender.
“There will be a competitive process, and due to this fact it will be difficult to point out a specific date, but it would be in the near future, as soon as possible. The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure is already dealing with the issue of organizing the tender. In any case, the concept will be preserved and we will have a single route, which will include a route connecting urban settlements to villages, as well as a route connecting the regional center to Yerevan, and this will be carried out by the same operator,” Davit Khudatyan said.
The Governor emphasized that the staff of the Armavir Marz Administration does not have a control function over the means of transport that stop at bus stops and carry people. “We are doing everything within the scope of our authority to ensure that the residents of Armavir city and neighboring rural settlements are provided with proper, high-quality transport, we are taking steps in this direction.”
Davit Khudatyan also said that the problem is not new, it exists for a long time. “An institutional solution should be given to it.”
Iravaban.net has learned from the “Datalex” judicial-information system that “Ynkerner Trans” Company applied to the Administrative Court and demanded to recognize the Company as the winner in the tender held for the regular service of passengers by road transport of joint routes of the Armavir region of Armavir Marz and sign a contract with them.
The Court of the First Instance, presided over by judge Mikael Melkumyan, decided to reject the submitted claim.
The Court made the decision on 1 November, 2023, and it has not been appealed.
