On 11 March, the 3rd focus group discussion on the commitment “Register of gifts related to the exercise of official duties of persons holding public positions and of public servants” of OGP-Armenia National Action Plan 2022-2024 was held.
The Armenian Lawyers’ Association conducted the focus group discussion in partnership with the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, within the framework of the European Union-funded “Multi-Faceted OGP Action: Open Justice & Anti-Corruption Commitments” Program, which is aimed at providing assistance to the Government in the implementation of two commitments under the OGP-Armenia National Action Plan 2022-2024: Establishment of E-Justice and Register of Gifts.
Representatives of CSOs from Yerevan and RA marzes, participated in the discussion organized in online format.
Project expert Ms Suzanna Soghomonyan presented the sectoral issues raised during the previous focus group discussions organized within the framework of the project and the planned actions was held. Further, discussion regarding the regulations of the registry of gifts and the institution of the prohibition of accepting gifts related to the performance of the official duties of public officials and public servants, the opinions and observations of the participants were collected.
In particular, there was a discussion about this institution and the regulations regarding raising the awareness of public officials and public servants, as well as the general public, interoperability with the existing electronic systems in terms of the registry, measures of liability in case of giving and receiving gifts, and other issues.
