We consider the shortage of personnel to be our “Achilles heel” in the fight against corruption. Mr. Karen Zadoyan, the President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, spoke about this on the air of First News.
He noted that in many cases the selection of personnel is veiled; the real, worthy personnel are not involved in the system. “It is predetermined from the very beginning what personnel should be selected.”
The problem was discussed both during the election of the first composition of the Corruption Prevention Commission and the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee. “Political interventions are very dangerous for the bodies involved in the fight against corruption.”
