RA MFA spokesperson Ani Badalyan commented on the statement of the official representative of the Russian MFA.
“The Government of the Republic of Armenia recently published the “Crossroads of Peace” Project, from the fundamental principles of which it is clear that in the event of the opening of regional communications, the Republic of Armenia must implement border and customs control in its territory through its state institutions.
In addition, a special department was recently created in the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, whose task, in the event of the opening of regional communications, is to ensure the security of these communications, as well as the goods, cargo, vehicles and people transported through them.
“The Republic of Armenia has never agreed to any limitation of its sovereignty with any document, and control of a third country cannot be established over any part of its sovereign territory,” the statement says.
