Whistle-blowing is the written or oral reporting of information by a whistle-blower to an authorized person or body about a case of corruption or conflict of interest, rules of ethics or other restrictions, other harm to public interests or their threat in state and/or local self-government bodies, as well as organizations.
Reporting can be done through the azdararir.am platform operated by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the RA, both openly and anonymously.
According to the statistics available on the platform, 74 reports have been submitted, during the first 9 months of 2023 through the Unified Electronic Platform for Whistle-Blowing. Some of these reports were verified by operative-investigative operations and criminal proceedings were initiated based on them.
It should be added that whistle-blowers can follow the progress of the case after reporting anonymously or openly.
In particular, after reporting, it is necessary to observe the valid conditions of access and log into the system regularly. To enter the system, you need to perform the following actions:
- Click the button Whistle-blow on the Home page of the website,
- Fill in username and password in the relevant fields and click the button Login;.
- Choose whistle-blowing of interest to you from the list of your whistle-blowing and click the button Open.
After performing the mentioned actions, the notification page will open in front of you, on the right side of which the current status of the notification and the progress of the notification procedure are presented. In the left part of the page, there is a feedback interface, through which the body conducting the proceedings during the reporting process can contact you through messages in order to collect the necessary information and facts related to the report. To return to the list of notifications, you must click on the name of the site.
We do not forget that whistle-blowers are not “snitchers”, they are decent and law abiding citizens.
