Levon Kocharyan was detained for 1 month. His defense attorney Alexander Kochubaev reported.
Earlier he wrote: “After the 9-hour session, the court went to the deliberation room to make a decision, which will be announced at 08:30.”
Notably, Judge Masis Melokonyan rejected the motion to hold the session in the open.
The defense submitted a motion to withdraw, which was also rejected. “Judge Masis Melkonyan rejected the motion to self withdrawal, stating that he agrees with the thoughts of Robert Kocharyan, has no bad attitude and has sworn to be impartial and he is so,” Alexander Kochubaev wrote.
According to the lawyer, lawyer Gayane Papoyan, who is related to judge Masis Melkonyan, joined the defense group and filed a motion for self withdrawal on that basis.
“The court rejected Gayane Papoyan’s petition, noting that they do not have intense contact as relatives and that he will independently investigate the case,” Kochubaev wrote.
“I have always been proud of my father’s activities and his responsibility, if I had heard what you said, I would have applied a measure of responsibility to my father,” Levon Kocharyan told Judge Masis Melkonyan at the hearing.
To remind, Levon Kocharyan was charged for violence against a representative of the Government.
