On 17 September, around 2 o’clock in the morning, Tavush patrols while on duty stopped an “Opel” car on Metalworkers’ street in Ijevan. The driver, however, did not comply with their legal request to stop the vehicle.
Police reported that a chase began, and the vehicle was stopped with two other Police groups that arrived to help. This time, the driver of the “Opel”, trying to escape, drove the car backwards and hit the Patrol Service car.
The 35-year-old driver, who was under the influence of alcohol, was arrested and taken to the Ijevan Police Station along with the car.
As part of the criminal proceedings initiated on 17 September in the Tavush Regional Investigation Department, the driver was arrested and taken to the place of detention for the arrested people.
