3 Medals at the 7th European Junior Olympiad in Informatics

On 8-14 September, the 7th European International Junior Olympiad in Informatics was held in the city of Kutaisi, Georgia. The 9th-grade students Alex Grigoryan (Quantum College), Alexander Ghazaryan, Vahan Abrahamyan and Makar Dilanyan (Physical Mathematics Special School named after A. Shahinyan) represented the Armenian team.

Schoolchildren representing Armenia won 3 medals. Alex Grigoryan won a gold medal, Alexander Ghazaryan – a silver medal, Vahan Abrahamyan – a bronze medal. One of our participants Makar Dilanyan, received a letter of commendation. Armen Andreasyan and Samvel Andreasyan (YSU) led the Armenian team.

It should be noted that 96 representatives from 24 countries participated in the Olympiad. The format of the event was similar to that of the International Olympiad in Informatics and each country could represent a maximum of 4 participants.

Let’s remind that in 2022, at the 6th European International Junior Olympiad in Informatics, which was held in Ukraine in an online format, where the Armenian team won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals.
