In 2003, Armenia ratified the Protocol No. 6 to the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms Concerning the Abolition of the Death Penalty, according to which the abolition of the death penalty is already limited, but it does not exclude the death penalty for acts committed in time war or of conditions of immediate threat of war.
Today, on 11 September, during the regular session of the National Assembly, Deputy Minister of Justice Karen Karapetyan presented the Draft Law “On Ratifying Protocol No. 13 on the Abolition of the Death Penalty in All Circumstances”.
