A group of Artsakh residents have been on the Akna (Aghdam) Stepanakert road since 29 August. According to them, they are there to prevent Azerbaijani fake humanitarian aid from entering Artsakh.
Davit Ishkhanyan, the President of the National Assembly of Artsakh, addressed this issue at the press conference held on 30 August.
“I have certain information that yesterday, when the Azerbaijani trucks approached, certain negotiations took place with the Russian peacekeepers, I must also record that the replacement of the commander of the peacekeepers has just arrived in Artsakh and is not yet familiar with the general internal situation or, if he is familiar, it is virtyal and there are some episodes that it is necessary for the Russian side to be more informed, but those who are here, the relevant officers and officials of the military, I am sure that they are very well informed about our approaches and also about the approaches of the Azerbaijani side. The result of these discussions has not yielded anything yet, but the proposal of the Russian peacekeepers to enable the access of vehicles to the Artsakh Repablic has not yielded any results. Measures have been taken by our Ministry of Internal Affairs, and these discussions are still ongoing. I hope that these negotiations will end in an atmosphere of mutual understanding,” the President of the National Assembly said.
