The Shirak Marz Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee initiated criminal proceedings under the features of Article 342, Part 3 of the RA Criminal Code in connection with the tragic car accident that happened on the Gyumri-Landjik highway.

Gor Abrahamyan, Press Secretary of the Investigative Committee, reports.

“As a result of the car accident, 10 passengers of the minibus and the driver died on the spot. 5 passengers, as well as the driver of the “Zil” truck, were taken to Gyumri Medical Center with various physical injuries. According to the information provided by the medical center, the condition of the injured is serious or extremely serious.

Forensic and examinations have been ordered.

Urgent measures are being taken in order to clarify the identities of all passengers, and to find out the causes of the car accident, as well as to make a legal assessment of the actions of the drivers.

At the moment, it has not been possible to carry out the necessary investigative actions with the persons transferred to the medical facility due to the impossibility of doing because of their health condition.

The Investigative Committee will publish more comprehensive information about the incident in the near future.
