Online Training, Master Classes and Practical Skills Development Phases of the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders completed 

The students of 9th stream of the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders, the 1st anti-corruption professional educational initiative operating in the Republic of Armenia, successfully completed the phase of online training, as well as master classes and practical skills development phases. In the framework of the online training phase (which was started on 15 June), the students were trained on the topics of anti-corruption and integrity through the e-learning platform created by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, studied 25 video lessons and filled out questionnaires summarizing the 25 topics in order to test and strengthen their knowledge.

The online phase was followed by the phase of Master Classes and Practical Skills Development (which was started on 10 July), during which more than a dozen master classes were held by leading experts in the field, visits were organized to about two dozen state bodies and structures performing functions in the fields of anti-corruption and integrity, where our listeners had multi-content discussions with the heads and other officials of these bodies and structures.

Within the framework of the master classes, ALA President Karen Zadoyan, Anti-Corruption Expert, lawyer Syuzanna Soghomonyan, President of the “European in Law Association” NGO Lusine Hakobyan, Hovsep Khurshudyan, EaP CSF ANP Facilitator Hovsep Khurshudyan, Co-Founder of “Bardzunk” Educational and Strategic Center, Hayk Navasardyan, former Deputy Minister of Justice, President of “Digital Armenia” organization Suren Krmoyan, Editor of Iravaban.net independent, specialized news site Alisa Chilingaryan, President of the “Intercultural Research and Development” NGO, Education Expert Areg Tadevosyan and members of the Governing Board of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia.

As part of the practical skills development stage, the students visited the Corruption Prevention Commission, the Anti-Corruption Committee, the Investigative Committee, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Court of Cassation, the Ministry of Justice, the Government, the Civil Service Bureau of the Office of the Prime Minister of the RA, the Constitutional Court, the Office of the Human Rights Defender, the Central Bank, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Chamber of Advocates, Academy of Advocates, State Revenue Committee, National Polytechnic University and Ministry of Finance.

In addition to field visits, other educational visits were made as well. In particular, one of the main goals of the School is the preservation of the national image and the spread of patriotic ideology, that is why the students visited the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, toured the museums and had a meeting with H.E. with H.E. Karekin the Second Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.

The second stage was concluded with a visit to the N Military Unit of the Ministry of Defense, where the students, with the support of the RA Ministry of Defense, had the opportunity to get acquainted with weapons and learned how to use them.

The students who have successfully completed the master class and practical skills development phases of the Anti-Corruption School will have the opportunity to spread the anti-corruption knowledge they have acquired among the youth through public awareness seminars.

Further, the best 15-20 participants who have achieved high results, will participate in the outreach (out of Yerevan) in-depth anti-corruption training. The in-depth training phase of the school will consist of the modules: “Anti-Corruption Advanced Training” and “Pillars of National Identity”.

The students, who have successfully completed the practical skills development and public awareness stages of the school, will present their research and public awareness results to the reputable jury and the public.

Students who have passed and successfully graduated from all five phases of the School will be awarded GRADUATION CERTIFICATES of Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders.

The Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders was founded by Karen Zadoyan, the President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, a member of the Anti-Corruption Policy Council. “The Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO is organizing the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders in cooperation with the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia.
