The Republic of Artsakh has been under total blockade for 241 days.
Samvel Abrahamyan, the Head of the Village of Tsovateghi of Artsakh, presented how people live in these conditions in a conversation with Iravaban.net.
“At the moment, the most needed products are those that are not produced here: sugar, rice, tobacco, almost everything. We take care of our children as best we can,” he says.
Samvel Abrahamyan emphasizes that due to the shortage of gasoline and diesel fuel, they are deprived of the opportunity to reach the capital Stepanakert and this complicates the situation even more.
There is a deep humanitarian crisis in Artsakh, the head of the village says that fortunately, there have been no deaths from starvation in his village.
“We should already think about autumn sowing, but we don’t have diesel fuel. The works are standing. The Azerbaijani side also hinders the works, they shoot,” Abrahamyan says.
The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has repeatedly announced the delivery of humanitarian aid to Artsakh through the alternative route of Akna (Aghdam).
Samvel Abrahamyan, the Head of the Village of Tsovateghi, says that this offer from the Azerbaijani side is unacceptable.
“It cannot be. Our 30-year struggle will be in vain. The blood of so many of our victims will become as if it did not happen and we will be observers from the sidelines. And it is not possible to make friendship with them,” he says.
Referring to the actions of the Russian peacekeeping military group regarding the delivery of humanitarian aid to Artsakh, the Head of the Village of Tsovateghi noted that their “hands are tied”.
