International Law is rushing towards its End: Aram Vardevanyan

Court decisions, according to the branch of law, are not executed, if they remain on paper, and thus this is the beginning of the end of this law. Lawyer Aram Vardevanyan wrote about on his Facebook page.

“One of the guarantees of the existence of international law is the International Court of Justice itself. Regarding Kosovo’s right to self-determination, in 2010 the same court expanded the scope of the right to self-determination in a non-binding but advisory opinion. That position did not remain on paper.

In February 2023, the International Court of Justice made a binding decision on the unblocking of the Lachin Corridor, recorded the illegal behavior of Azerbaijan in Artsakh, but there is no minimal positive change in the situation.

Court decisions, according to the branch of law, are not executed, if they remain on paper, and thus this is the beginning of the end of this law.

The Azerbaijani criminal acts in Artsakh, the fact of the blockade, the gross disregard and violation of the decision of the UN Court justify the fact that international law is rushing towards its end…” he wrote.
