“Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO, “Europe of Law” NGO, the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia, in cooperation with the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, are carrying out the alternative public monitoring of the Actions of the Republic of Armenia Anti-Corruption Strategy and its Implementation Action Plan for 2019-2022 to be performed in 2021.
This, among other things, includes, collecting information on the progress of implementing the Strategy’s Action Plans using qualitative and quantitative methods.
ALA organized an online discussion on April 12, in which Representatives from several political and social organizations, the Central Bank, the Staff of the Human Rights Defender’s Office, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, the Academy of Justice, the Investigative Committee, the Prosecutor General’s Office, from the State Revenue Committee, E-Governance Infrastructure Implementation Unite (EKENG).
The participants discussed the Anti-Corruption Topics of the Anti-Corruption Strategy (investigation of corruption cases).
The discussion held in this framework, in particular focused on clarifying the scope of corruption crimes under the RA Criminal Code, developing separate corruption crimes, including illicit enrichment, investigation methodology, training criminal prosecution bodies based on the developed methodology, supplementing statistics on corruption crimes, creating a centralized register of bank accounts, corruption on the strengthening of international cooperation in the framework of the investigation and detection of crimes, the creation of structures aimed at the confiscation of property of illicit origin and other issues.
Two more similar discussions were held on 10 and 11 April, during which the Public Awareness and Anti-Corruption Education Sector, and the Corruption Prevention sector of the Anti-Corruption Strategy were discussed, respectively.
