Working debate was held in NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security

It is proposed to consider as a crime and define criminal liability for the failure to attend the sitting of the RA NA Investigative Committee or provide information. The deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction, the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security Armen Khachatryan proposes amendments to the constitutional law on the NA Rules of Procedure and the RA Criminal Code. The legislative initiative was debated during the working debate of the Committee on April 6.
Highlighting the parliamentary government system in Armenia, Armen Khachatryan noted that the Investigative Committee is one of the most important toolsets of the legislative body.
According to the deputy, experience has shown that during the work of the Investigative Commission, problems arise that hinder the normal working process of the Committee. Armen Khachatryan mentioned that there is a need to regulate such issues legislatively.
During the working debate, proposals were presented, objections were also sounded, which, according to the author of the legislative initiative, will be taken into consideration in order to finalize the document and circulate.
The MP added that the international experience was also studied.
Representatives of law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Justice took part in the debate.
