Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan wrote on his Facebook page:

“The recent actions of the Anti-Corruption Committee in the Yerevan Municipality remind once again that holding a position at the expense of the state, community and, taxpayers, in general, is as honorable as it is, it implies a double share of responsibility.

Having no intention to violate the presumption of innocence, I expect a full and comprehensive disclosure from the investigation. This is what the interests of Yerevan and the people of Yerevan demand. At the same time, I call for sobriety to all indiscriminate employees of the municipality and community organizations, urging them to use their efforts exclusively for the capital city.”

As we have already reported, on 21 March, within the framework of the criminal proceedings being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Committee, Seyran Mejlumyan, former Secretary of Staff of Yerevan Municipality’s, and Davit Dallakyan, Deputy Head of the Architecture and Urban Development, Acting Head of the Department, were arrested.
