On 23 February, the Department of Combating Illegal Migration of the General Department of the Criminal Police organized another special operation. It was carried out with the officers of Vagharshapat Police Department. As a result, inspection visits were made to several hotels operating in the service area of Vagharshapat Dpartment.

As a result, about 3 dozen foreign citizens living in Armenia without valid passports, residence status and invalid documents were found and presented to the Passport and Visa Department. Protocols regarding administrative offense were drawn up against them.
Similar operations are ongoing.
Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
