On February 18, within the framework of the Munich Security Forum Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met with Louis Bono, the Senior Adviser for Caucasus Negotiations, the U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.

During the meeting, issues on regional security were touched upon.
The recent developments in the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations were discussed. Minister Mirzoyan briefed the interlocutor on the latest proposals of the Armenian side regarding the draft of normalization of relations with Azerbaijan.
The humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from Azerbaijan’s blockade of the Lachin corridor was also touched upon. The Foreign Minister stressed that Azerbaijan’s policy of subjecting Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing, continuous provocations, as well as aspirations towards the sovereign territory of Armenia undermine the efforts of the international community and the Armenian side towards establishing peace in the region. The imperative for creating an international mechanism for discussing the rights and security guarantees of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh was highlighted.
