Today, on 24 January, Human Rights Defender Kristinne Grigoryan resubmitted the resignation letter to the RA National Assembly.

The Office of the Human Rights Defender reported.

According to part 2 of Article 13 of the RA Constitutional Law “On Human Rights Defender”, in case of resignation, the powers of the Defender shall terminate if no later than a week after submitting the resignation letter the Defender submits a second resignation letter. The first application was submitted to the National Assembly on January 23 of this year.

According to the RA Constitutional Law “On Human Rights Defender”, in case of early termination of the powers of the Defender on the ground of resignation, the Defender shall publish and present to the National Assembly a brief communication on the activities implemented during the period between the presentation of regular annual report thereof and the date of submitting a letter of resignation. In the summary report, in addition to the information about the activities of the Defender, include analyzes and recommendations to be presented in the 2022 Annual Report of the institution.
