“Epidemic Filter” will be set in schools and pre-school educational institutions

Based on the letter of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia regarding the increase in acute respiratory infections and flu in recent days, in particular, in order to prevent the increase of the disease among children aged 0-18 years, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia issued appropriate recommendations.

In a circular letter, the Ministry appealed to the Regional Governors of the Republic of Armenia and the Yerevan Municipality, proposing to implement preventive measures in the general education and pre-school educational institutions under their jurisdiction.

“In order to avoid further complications of the epidemic situation and the spread of the disease, as a preventive measure, it is proposed to establish an “epidemic filter” in schools and pre-school educational institutions to exclude sick children from entering the institutions,” MESCS noted in the letter, which was sent to Regional Governors and Yerevan Municipality along with the circular.

The same instruction was also given to the principals of state public educational institutions and non-state schools operating under the RA Ministry of Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

Anti-epidemic measures will be implemented in schools and pre-school institutions from 9 January.

It should also be noted that the winter vacation of the 3rd-12th graders is over and they are attending school from today, while the vacation of the first and second graders will continue until 22 January inclusive.
