The circumstances of the case of hooliganism and violence against the doctor committed by a 36-year-old resident of the same region in the “Alaverdi Medical Center” were revealed by the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings investigated by the Tumanyan Investigative Unite of the Lori Marz Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
According to the factual data obtained by the examination, in the night on 18 June, 2022, a citizen was taken to “Alaverdi Medical Center” CJSC for the purpose of a sobriety examination. On the first floor of the building of the medical institution, in the corridor near the reception and the doctors’ room, a 36-year-old citizen who came with the latter, argued with the emergency doctor of the CJSC, who was preparing to carry out the check, and pulled his clothes. Further, pulling the latter out of the office into the corridor, he hit in the doctor’s face and chest 3-4 times with his hands, causing physical pain.
These actions were accompanied by a loud noise; only with the intervention of other medical workers it was possible to call the person in question out of the medical center.
As a result of the mentioned actions, the normal activities of the medical center and the mentioned employees were disrupted, the doctor failed to perform a sobriety test, and the people present felt fear and anxiety.
On the basis of the obtained sufficient factual data, the 36-year-old man was charged with the criminal acts provided by Article 297, Part 1 and Article 195, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
The ban on absence was chosen as a measure of restraint against the man.
The preliminary investigation has been completed, the materials of the proceedings have been sent to the supervising prosecutor with the indictment to approve it and send it to the court.
Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
