Russian President Vladimir Putin is holding a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Saint Petersburg. RIA Novosti writes․
Putin said that the economic cooperation is developing positively, but now the main problem is the settlement of the situation in Karabakh.
“Yesterday we started talking, and even the three of us managed to talk. Of course, the main problem is the settlement of the situation in the South Caucasus and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, everything related to Karabakh,” Putin said.
It is noted that on 27 December, the participants visited the Russian Museum, where the Russian president already held talks with his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko.
It is noted that last week the Prime Minister of Armenia said that the Russian peacekeepers are not fulfilling their obligations related to the control of the Lachin Corridor. For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pointed out that the Russian contingent clearly fulfills its tasks, but “the situation is very complicated”.
