Roads are closed and opened not by the physical presence of people, but by the ratio of political forces. Arman Yeghoyan, Deputy of the National Assembly, said today, on 21 December, in a briefing with journalists.
“One word could be enough to open the way and one silence could be enough to keep the road closed. It’s not about physical strength here. In other words: when the ratio of political forces changes, the ratio of physical forces also changes. There is a possibility that the road will be opened before New Year, but there is also a possibility that it will not be opened,” he said.
The MP also referred to the UN Security Council’s discussion of the situation in the Lachine Corridor, noting that there is international pressure.
“Was this step a small one? Does it happen? Is it over over? Words have an effect. Those countries take into account in their politics the views that are consistent with those speeches, and this affects the situation. When the ratio of political forces changes: then the situation will change. The important thing is that the issue entered the international agenda, the important thing is that there were statements that Azerbaijan would not want to be made,” Arman Yeghoyan said.
