The Security Council of Artsakh has decided to appeal to the Command of the Peacekeeping Troops of the Russian Federation

On 13 December, an extended session of the Security Council of the Republic of Artsakh was convened under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, during which the military-political situation created by Azerbaijan’s blocking of the corridor connecting Artsakh with the outside world was discussed.

The General Information Department of the Office of the President of the Republic of Artsakh reported.

It was emphasized that the uninterrupted operation of the corridor is guaranteed by the trilateral statement of 9 November, 2020, the provisions of which are once again violated by the Azerbaijani side.

The Security Council has decided to write a corresponding letter to the Command of the Russian Peacekeeping Troops stationed in the Republic of Artsakh, considering the closure of the corridor unacceptable, which will lead to a humanitarian disaster in Artsakh.

The President emphasized that the authorities of the Republic of Artsakh are taking all possible measures to solve the problems of safety and livelihood of the population.

Let us remind that on 12 December at around 10:30, the Azerbaijani side, violating the provisions of the Trilateral Statement of 9 November, 2020, closed the only way of life connecting Artsakh to the world for environmental reasons, violating the vital interests and rights of the civilian population. They set up tents and brought stoves.

Hundreds of citizens, including minors, cannot return home, some of them temporarily stayed in Syunik Marz.

The transport connection of Lisagor, Mets Shen, Hin Shen and Yegtsahogh villages of Shushi region with the capital Stepanakert is interrupted.
