Bust of the three-time champion of the Olympic Games, a famous gymnast, was unveiled in the yard of the Albert Azaryan Olympic Shift Children’s Sports School. The project was implemented with the support of Yerevan Municipality and the President of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia. The author of Azaryan’s statue is sculptor Gerasim Shahverdyan.

Albert Azaryan, ESCS Minister Vahram Dumanyan, Yerevan Deputy Mayor Gevorg Simonyan, President of the National Olympic Committee Gagik Tsarukyan, NA deputies, representatives of the municipality, representatives of the sports world and school students were present at the ceremonial opening.

“I think this is the minimum gratitude for Azaryan’s contribution and huge dedication to the development of Armenian sports. This was a really long-awaited project,” Gagik Vanoyan, president of the Armenian Gymnastics Federation said.

Azaryan himself said that he was impressed and excited.
