“Reborn Armenia” Party issued a statement, which states: “According to the decision of 28 November, 2022 of the Board of the Party on the Party ceases its activities in the RA National Assembly.

Three of the four deputies of the Party, Vahe Hakobyan, Chairman of the Party, vice-chairpersons of the Party Hripsime Istanbulyan and Ylena Kirakosyan, submitted an application in accordance with the law to renounce their mandates.

Zemfira Mirzoeva, a member of the “Reborn Armenia” Party, who represents the Assyrian community of Armenia in the 8th Convocation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and entered the parliament from the second part of the nationwide list of the “Armenia” Alliance in the RA NA Special Elections, with the quota for national minorities, will continue her honorary activity according to her own application for temporarily freezing her membership in the Party. Such a decision of the Party Board is primarily the result of respect for RA national minorities and aims not to hinder in any way the consistency in raising and solving the problems of national minorities, which is an important part of Zemfira Mirzoeva’s activity.

According to the decision of the Board of the “Reborn Armenia” Party, those members of the Party, who are represented in the pre-election list of the Alliance, are free to decide whether to take the mandate or not, when it is their turn to receive the parliamentary mandate. In case of making a decision to take a mandate, these persons must leave the ranks of the Party.

The decision of the Board of the “Reborn Armenia” Party is the result of long discussions and the consensus of the Board members. We have repeatedly stated that parliamentary activity and parliamentary mandates are not an end in themselves for us. The representatives of the Party did their best to raise the issues in the National Assembly and outside the National Assembly, and to look for ways to resolve the situation. And yet, currently we continue to be of the opinion that all the grounds that forced the boycott of the NA sessions months ago continue to be relevant even today.

The decision of the Party Board is also the result of contacts and discussions with different layers of our society, and we are more than sure that this is an acceptable and understandable step for our compatriots and friends of the struggle.

The “Reborn Armenia” Party will continue its activities in the opposition field within the framework of the values ​​and policies declared by the Party.

At the same time, we thank our colleagues of the RA NA “Armenia” Faction for the path we passed together and the joint work, wishing them success in their activities and struggle.

We are sure that the interaction with our partners from the opposition field will be continuous in the future as well, based on common ideas and common goals,” the statement reads.
