Penalty “Reprimand” against Two Prosecutors

By the order of the Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan, a disciplinary penalty of “reprimand” was imposed on the person holding an autonomous position in the Department of State Interests Protection of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office.

In particular, the Senior Prosecutor of the Department of State Interests Protection, participating in the court session in N administrative case, being obliged to uphold the reputation of the prosecutor’s office, showed a disrespectful and impolite attitude towards the attorney participating in the trial.

Within the framework of the disciplinary proceedings carried out in the Prosecutor General’s Office of the RA, data were also obtained about the apparent violation of the rules of conduct committed by the attorney who participated in the said court session. Based on the above, the prosecutor conducting disciplinary proceedings applied to the Chamber of Advocates to discuss the issue of subjecting the attorney to disciplinary liability.

By another order of the Prosecutor General, a disciplinary penalty “reprimand” was also applied to a person holding an autonomous position in the Shirak Marz Prosecutor’s Office.

In particular, the prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Shirak Marz supervised the legality of the pre-trial proceedings in the criminal case, where he was involved as a victim in the criminal proceedings initiated by the same person in connection with another alleged crime, which caused reasonable doubts in the impartial observer about the latter’s objectivity and impartiality. In such circumstances, the prosecutor did not announce self withdrawal and continued to supervise the said criminal proceedings.
